The short version
We do not use your email address for marketing, advertising, or selling data. It is used only to create your account and sign you in. The game uses your account to associate your commander profile and saved progress with you.
KARDASHEV is also playable without an account. In that case, your progress stays on your device.
What KARDASHEV stores
When you choose to create an account and use cloud save, KARDASHEV stores the following game information against your account identifier:
- Your callsign (the name you choose for your commander).
- Your save data, including game progress, settings, unlocks, and other gameplay state needed to restore your game.
- A technical account identifier so we can connect the profile and save data to the right account.
We do not store your email address in the game’s profile or cloud-save database.
Accounts and sign-in
Creating an account uses your email address to sign you in and to secure access to your commander profile. We use it only for authentication—never for marketing or advertising.
Clerk is used purely for authentication — handling sign-in and securing access to your account. Its handling of your credentials is governed by its own policy and is separate from this one, which covers how KARDASHEV uses the profile and save data it stores for the game.
Site analytics
For visitors in the United States, this site uses Cloudflare Beacon, a real-user-monitoring script that reports anonymized page performance data. It is only enabled for US visitors and is not used for advertising or tracking you across sites.
How we use and share game data
We use your profile and save data only to provide the game and its optional cloud-save feature. We do not sell, rent, or use this data for targeted advertising. We do not send promotional email to your account email address.
We may disclose information if required to comply with law, protect the security of the game or its players, or respond to a valid legal request.
Your choices
You can play without signing in. You can also manage local progress from the game’s Settings screen, including exporting or clearing local save data. To update or delete your account, contact the team.

Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its “Last updated” date. Continuing to use KARDASHEV after an update means you accept the revised policy.
